Entertainment

The daily English language tabloid Mid-Day incorporates “The List”, a guide to Mumbai entertainment. Newspapers have information on mainstream events and film screenings.

Organised Tours

The MTDC operates inspiring city tours at 2 pm daily and suburban tours from 9.15 am to 6 pm. It also has one-hour open deck tour buses of the city's illuminated heritage buildings. The government of India tourist office can arrange multilingual guides if you wish to explore Mumbai at your own pace.

Music, Dance and Theatre

The National Centre for Performing Arts (NCPA) located at the tip of Nariman Point is the hub of Mumbai´s music, theatre and dance scene. It also contains Tata Theatre and the Experimental Theatre. Regional artistes perform on K Dubash Marg every Sunday evening during the Kala Ghoda Fair, which takes place on Sunday from November to January.

Cricket

The Cricket season runs from October to April. Test matches and One Day Internationals are played a handful of times a year at Wankhede Stadium, just off Marine Drive.

Horse Racing

Mumbai´s horse-racing season runs from November to April. Races are held on Sunday and Thursday afternoons at Mahalakshmi Racecourse.

Shopping

Mumbai is India´s great marketplace with some of the best shopping in the country.The main areas are Crawford Market (fruit and veg.), Mangaldas Market (silk and cloth), Zaveri Market (jewellery), Bhuleshwar Market (fruits and vegetables) and Chor Bazaar(Mumbai´s ‘theives’ market for antiques).
