Corporate Social Responsibility
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is a Company's commitment to create and operate in an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable manner, while recognising the interests of all its stakeholders.Corporate Social Responsibility is stipulated to be law under the Companies Act where all registered companies would have to spend 2% of their net profit on social and environmental objectives.
The Corporate Social Responsibility Cell at the BMC has been created as a platform to engage all stakeholders including Corporate Houses, NGOs,and the wider society alike to address social and environmental issues prevalent in our city.
The Cell is aimed at bringing together everyone's strengths to co-operate and co-ordinate on different projects and activities that fall under the realm of BMC to further the interests of our city.
