AN INTRODUCTION OF CITYNET:

Citynet (The Regional Network of Local Authorities for the Management of Human Settlements) was founded in 1987. Citynet is an active network across the Asia-Pacific region, committed to helping local governments to improve the sustainability of human settlements.

Citynet is a network which promotes co-operation among Local Governments, development authorities, non-governmental organizations (N.G.O.s.), Community-based organizations (C.B.O.s.), National Governmental Organisations, Association of Local authorities, research & training institutes, etc. Citynet also welcomes private Corporations and individuals as Members of the network.

	Starting with 26 Members, Citynet has grown to become an international organization of 116 Members in 23 countries. Citynet is a unique and innovative institution functioning as a catalyst for South to South and multi-lateral City-to-City Co-operation as an effective tool for sustainable urban development.
